Paws & Relax is a much-loved stress-reduction service offered every Wednesday of the semester at Thrive, the Health & Wellness satellite office located on the second floor of the Hamel Rec Center (HRC).
Hours:
You must be available 10a.m. – 3 p.m. on Wednesdays to manage the scheduled volunteer team(s). You may also need to work an Additional 1-2 hours/ week for administrative tasks specific to Paws & Relax.
Pay:
The starting hourly rate is $13.00. (Applicants must have a Federal work-study award)
Responsibilities:
- Be present from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm for Set up and Breakdown of weekly sessions held on Wednesdays during the academic year.
- Assist with coordinating and communicating weekly schedules to volunteer teams as well as any updates as needed.
- Reserve on-campus parking for Wednesday sessions and any additionally planned Paws & Relax outreach events. Students would not need to be present for additional events but would be expected to coordinate with the volunteer teams for scheduling.
Marketing and Evaluation Responsibilities:
- You must be present during Wednesday sessions and engage students in conversation about:
- Upcoming Health & Wellness events
- Available services at Health & Wellness
- Take photos for social media and post using #BeWellUNH and @unhhealth tags
- Collect and report attendance data
- Implement evaluations and report results
Successful candidates should:
- **You must receive Federal Work/Study Funds**
- Be reliable and able to work at least 5-6 hours per week (during the academic year)
- Have an interest in health and wellness issues (nutrition, sexual health, wellness, alcohol, tobacco, other drugs)
- Have experience working with Microsoft Office applications (including Excel, Word, Publisher, and Access).
- Pay close attention to detail and organization
- Be professional and able to maintain confidentiality
Description & Details
This position will assist our staff by supporting the many needs of the Health Records and Registration office.
Hours:
8 hours a week during the academic year. Schedules are flexible.
Pay:
The starting hourly rate is $13.00. (Applicants must have a Federal work-study award)
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and check-in desk support for Health & Wellness Records & Registration
- Answer phone calls, retrieve voicemails, scan documents, and photocopy
- Monitor self-check-in kiosks
- Provide administrative support for the Health & Wellness Registration Office.
Successful candidates should:
- **You must receive Federal Work/Study Funds**
- Be reliable and able to work 8 scheduled hours per week during the academic year.
- Knowledge of HIPAA.

Health science major or have prior healthcare experience.
- Be outgoing, personable, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Have experience working with Microsoft Office applications (including Excel, Word, and Access).

Wellness Assistants assist our staff with creating and implementing health and wellness programs and educational materials.
Hours:
4-6 hours a week during the academic year. Schedules are flexible. Academics always come first.
Pay:
The starting hourly rate is $13.00. (Applicants must have a Federal work-study award)
Description:
Assist staff with creating and implementing health and wellness programs and educational materials for the university community.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to staff of 5
- Design health education posters, flyers, display boards, and PowerPoint presentations
- Represent Health & Wellness at educational tables and programs around campus
- Collaborate with staff to create written content for Health & Wellness website and educational materials
- Assist staff with organizing, creating, and on occasion, presenting educational programs to students
- Conduct research using Dimond Library online databases
- Manage Health & Wellness Resource Library
- Make deliveries around campus
- Photocopying, filing, and other duties as assigned
Successful candidates should:
- Be eligible for the Federal Work/Study Program
- Be reliable and able to work at least 4-6 hours per week during the academic year
- Have an interest in health and wellness issues (nutrition, sexual health, wellness, alcohol, tobacco, other drugs)
- Have experience working with Microsoft Office applications (including Excel, Word, Publisher, and Access)
- Be skilled in conducting research
- Pay close attention to detail and organization
- Be professional and able to maintain confidentiality
